Angels & Fairies

ArtStone Figurines

Still being “found” by some of our customers, these Artstone figurines are priced right and have the sentiments that we want to say. Although (technically) only a couple of these figurines are actually angels, the sense is that they are angels. The ArtStone collection is made of a stone-like resin and resembles granite (or some other type of quarried stone) that make each angel appear in soft muted earthly tones of grays and tans. Each one has a saying flowing across the bottom of her dress that might depict your thoughts just perfectly. Angels start at just $13.99 but our supply is limited.

Heartwood Creek

Check www.enesco.com for all of the angels that are now available (we’ve only listed a few of the older ones below). New in 2008 was a smaller 7″ size (usually around $21.50) that have been quite popular. Call or stop by for details as the Jim Shore collection comes and goes!

A classic theme for quilting and folk art, these symbols of hope and love come straight from the heart of Jim Shore’s vision of the beauty of traditional art forms.

Artist Jim Shore, a native of South Carolina, utilizes his skills as a portraitist, sculptor, and folk artist to create his unique and creative collection of Heartwood Creek.
As a self-taught artist, Jim worked as an engineer before turning his full attention to art. He has painted in a variety of media including watercolor and egg tempura, a technique made popular by artists Andrew Wyeth and Bob Timberlake. Jim has also perfected his technique in silver and gold-smithing, wood carving, stained glass, furniture making and sculpting in stone.
With this diverse background and experience, Jim Shore has become an accomplished artist. He has created portraits for the governments of both North and South Carolina. As the creator of the popular pencil Santa line, Jim Shore changed the look of Santa Claus in the early 1990s. He is an active member and president of the Yorkville Artist Guild.
Jim Shore’s artistry and design for Heartwood Creek has earned accolades from the gift industry. In 2005, the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED) named Jim Artist of the Year---for the second consecutive year---and his seasonal offering by Enesco as Holiday Decor of the Year. In 2004, the NALED bestowed Artist of the Year and the NALED Award of Excellence (an award given by NALED’s Board of Directors for providing a talent with universal appeal, superb craftsmanship and quality). His artwork for Heartwood Creek Nativity also took top honors as Collectible of the Year and Decorative Collectible of the Year.

Established as the leading designer and marketer of angel gifts and collectibles, Roman Inc. introduced the Seraphim Classics Collection in 1994 shortly before the contemporary renaissance of angels in art, literature, and entertainment began. Inspired by more than 2,000 years of writings and works of art, Roman partnered with one of the world’s foremost artisans, Master Sculptor Gaylord Ho, to create modern interpretations of the most beautiful angels. The result was the Seraphim Classics Collection. Truly Heaven On Earth, the Seraphim Classics Collection is now recognized by many as the standard by which all angel designs are measured. The Collection has earned 16 of the most coveted industry awards including five achievement awards from the National Association of Limeted Edition Dealers (NALED), eight Collector’s Editions’ Awards of Excellence, and three Best of Show Awards from the International Collectible Exposition.

Known for beauty beyond compare and a valuable yet affordable nature, the Seraphim Classics Collection presents ideal gifts to celebrate nearly every moment and every earthly angel in life. Each Seraphim Classics angel is majestically sculpted and seemingly instilled with a sense of motion - from rich folds of flowing fabric to the smallest of butterflies seemingly captured mid-flight. Cast in resin fortified with both porcelain and marble, angels in the Seraphim Classics Collection are meticulously hand-painted using a special pastel palette. The most talented artists are charged with painting the angels’ faces and great care is taken to ensure that each angel’s eyes are filled with the love and compassion Seraphim collectors have come to expect.

Susan Lordi’s inspiration for Willow Tree comes from a love of family, closeness to friends, and an appreciation of nature. Each represents a quality or sentiment that helps us feel close to others, heal wounds, or treasure relationships to living things. Expression is revealed through gestures only…a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body.
